Standard Schnauzer
Standard Schnauzer?

At two months of age, how do you tell a Standard Schnauzer from a Miniature Schnauzer? It should obviously be bigger, but how much should it be?

It’s not a breed like a boston terrier where the dog can drift between varieties (Bostons are separated into weight categories), the three schnauzer varieties are actually three different breeds.

If his parents were standards, then he will be a standard, both mini, then a mini. If his parents were one of each, then you have purchased a crossbreed, although it may still fit the standard of one of the breeds

At 8 weeks the size differences may not be obvious to pople other than breeders, but you will be able to tell by the size of the parents what size you can expect your puppy to be.

Hope this helps
