It was recently reported that over 700,000 pets in the United States have had birthday parties thrown for them by their owners. This “pet party” trend has also taken off in other nations such as China, Japan and England. If you were thinking of throwing a party for your pet (specifically your dog), here is a list of party safety guidelines to ensure that all of the party animals in attendance have a fun and safe time. This list is by no means fully comprehensive, but it gives you a good starting point for your pet party safety. You should always use your best judgment to determine if something is appropriate for your pet, and the other pets in attendance at the party. Without further adieu, here are the dog party safety tips:

All dogs attending the party should have at least one person who the dog feels comfortable around present at the party. If a guardian for the dog is not able to attend your party, the dog should not attend either. Unless you feel comfortable enough with watching the dog yourself, you do not one to be held liable if something happens to the dog.

In case any of the dogs’ guardians do not bring waste bags for their dogs, make sure to have plenty on hand. This is especially true if the party is at a dog park or other public facility. Be sure to leave the location in the same condition that it was in prior to the party.

To avoid any potential scuffles between the party animals, only invite dogs that your dog already knows and feels comfortable with. If your best friend’s dog is sweet, but just doesn’t get along with your dog for some reason, it may be best to leave them off of the guest list. If you want to invite a dog who your dog has never met, set up a meeting between your dog and the other dog so that they can become acquainted before the party. Definitely leave canine bullies off of the guest list.

If you plan to have an outdoor party at a dog park or in your backyard, make sure that you have a contingency plan in the event of bad weather.

In regards to the length of the party, you can plan the party for as long as you see fit, just keep in mind that dogs can become restless very easy. If you notice that many of the guests are getting cranky, don’t be afraid to end the party early.

Wherever you choose to have the party, make sure that it is safely enclosed and that there are no “cracks” that any of the party guests may be able to slip through. This is especially true for the smaller guests at the party. If your Rottweiler has started digging a whole under your fence in the backyard, make sure that the hole isn’t big enough for your friend’s Shih Tzu to crawl through. If you think that the whole may become problematic, fill the whole before you host your party.

At treat time, make sure that every puppy has his or her own treat. Also, allow each dog’s guardian to give the treat to their respective dog.

If you invite dogs that have not yet been spayed or neutered, make sure that you alert the parents of the other dogs at the party. Also, if you think that it is necessary, make sure that the parents of these dogs keep an especially close eye on their pet.

Make sure to only provide treats that are deemed safe for dogs. If you are unsure about the dog toxicity of any of the treats that you want to give out at your party, consult your veterinarian. Also, it is a good idea to talk with the owners of the dog party guests beforehand to check if their dog is allergic to a particular food or ingredient.

You have noticed it many times that your cat has to beleaguer your for its food because your dog steals away the cat food. You must stop your dog from pilfering with the cat food, as it is not a healthy practice for your dog. As soon as you catch your dog eating the cat food, you should immediately yell at it and make it understand that this is a negative action on its part.

You can also keep handy a little spay bottle. A good spray is enough to stop your dog from fiddling with the cat’s meals. You must be prompt while using the aforementioned techniques. If you take actions after your dog has finished the food, it will just confuse your dog. It will not understand the proper matter on which you want to avert it. It should be borne in mind that the dog does not remember past activities. Even, it is unable to differentiate between crime and good deeds.

You can place the cat food to a distant place which is difficult for your dog to reach, although your cat can easily get there. You can even gate the eating area of your cat. You should restrict your dog to go near the eating place of your cat. You can also place the cat food on an elevated shelf, if your cat has the ability to jump till adequate heights. Cats have a tendency to reach even at those places, where your dog can not even think of.

You can provide meals to both your pets at the same moment on regular basis. You can keep away all the bowls after both your pets have finished their meals. By doing the above mentioned stuff, you can easily get rid of various aggravations included in these situations. You can even mount a wireless fence indoors. It would warn your dog when it approaches towards the food meant for your cat.

Being a responsible and careful pet owner, you must take necessary steps to do away with these hectic issues. A bif cardboard box should be arranged, where the cat can easily have its meals. You should then cut an entrance way for the cat to go inside. This opening should be such that your dog can not go inside the box. You should always feed both your pets on scheduled time everyday. Adequate amount of food as well as water should be provided to all the pets with the aim to avoid their interference in each other’s foods.

To Find the best Dog Supplies for your dog takes time and effort. You can get your dog beautiful and elegant Dog Clothes to place a smile on their faces.

Lymes disease is capable to affect individual pets differently. Certain pets show no symptoms, while several others exhibit fever, painful joints, vomiting, tiredness, and loss of appetite. The spirochete may harm nervous system, heart, eyes, and kidneys of pets, if their Lymes disease is not treated in time.

Cats:

Cats are likely to show walking difficulties, loss of appetite, eye damage, unusual breathing, and fever. Several cats infected with Lymes disease also show visible symptoms.

Dogs:

Dogs diagnosed with Lymes disease may be lethargic, and can have fever ranging between 103°F – 105°F, along with poor appetite. They may also experience lameness. Heart disorders, kidney failure, aggression, and confusion are other Lymes disease symptoms seen in dogs.

From my personal pet’s experience, I can say that dogs are infectious to Lymes bacterium, but they do not show visible Lymes disease symptoms. They also show the same expression for the disease as of humans.

Preventive Measures:

In consideration with my personal experience and research, below mentioned are certain preventive measures that you can rely on to help your pets stay free from Lymes disease infection:

•	Apply tick-terminating chemicals on your pet’s exterior to shield them from Lymes disease spreading infectious ticks. You can use dips and sprays containing pyrethrins and permethrins to kill ticks on horses, cats, and dogs. Conduct the application very carefully, as several pets are allergic or are sensitive to these sprays and chemicals.

•	You can use rubber gloves during the application process. Tick collars will also aid to deject ticks from attacking your pets. Ensure that you never apply multiple repellents on your pet, because a blend of various chemicals could make your pet very sick.

•	Ensure to safeguard your pet against ticks when admitting in a tick habitat, such as beach grass, wooded, shrubby, or grassy areas. Trim grassy areas frequently to minimize tick habitation, which is the root cause of Lymes disease.

•	Take care of the habitat with insecticides intended specifically for ticks. One crucial thing that I would like to add is to avoid contaminating water, as experts have suggested to spray insecticides at least 75 feet away form a well or any drinking water body.

•	Make regular tick-checks and examine your pets closely to spot any embedded ticks, which can seriously disturb your pet with Lymes disease infection.

Finally, my prime tip for you is to consult your veterinarian to obtain an appropriate treatment for your pet’s Lymes disease.

Michael Green had Lyme Disease. He speaks his own experiences he has had during that time. He owns value information of a one stop resource that provides solutions and answers for all your self defense and home security problems.

Read more and note the symptoms and treatment of Lyme Disease. You will be able to help yourself and others.

the website http://the-lyme-disease-symptoms.com is devoted to help the patients of Lyme Disease.

Yes, that is extremely possible. Dogs learn by association; good and bad. He probably associated the word tea, for the letter T. What he heard was 3 sounds; “cup-of-tea,” which to him sounded like O-U-T. That’s a positive association in his mind…it means going outside! He receives a positive reinforcement, by having the door opened, so he can go outside. To him, “T” is a good sound!

Dogs have an amazing aptitude to associate words with objects or actions. The average family pet, with minimal human-canine interaction can recognize as many as 20 words.

Dogs that have more interactions with their people, especially positive exchanges, can associate approximately 50 words. A number of behaviorists believe there are dogs that can associate up to 350-400 words!

Think for a minute, the fact dogs associate their name with themselves, is pretty fascinating. Dogs don’t have names for each other. When they see a dog they are familiar with, they respond to the other dog’s name, because they have made an associate with the sound of that word, to that dog. We are the ones who have individualized them by naming them. By using that sound over and over, and praising them for responding appropriately, they learn their name.

They even learn to associate the sound of a dog’s name they don’t like, because we have trained them to associate that specific sound, with that particular dog.

Many dogs even learn their owner’s name; because they hear us calling each other by name, and our response to that sound. It doesn’t take them long, before they associate the sound of our name with us.

Here are a few other things to ponder…bilingual dogs! Dogs that hear more than one language being spoken in their home; soon learn to associate objects and actions with two sounds!

Ironically, it doesn’t even have to be a sound for a dog to make an association. Dogs owned by the hearing impaired, or dogs that are themselves deaf, are capable of quickly learning sign language by using hand signals to communicate. The owner can communicate as easily with their pet, using only sign language, as the rest of us do speaking to our dogs. It’s all about positive reinforcement! Now, how neat is that?

Bottom line: The sooner you start, the “smarter” your dog will be! Start off working with your dog on making simple day-to-day associations, and keep raising the bar. Reward them with positive reinforcement each time they make the correct association. It doesn’t matter if they are 8-weeks old, or 14-years old; it’s never too late. It does not matter if they can or cannot hear, or if you can or cannot hear; they will amaze you. Challenge their brains. Dogs love learning something new every day!

There are many different types of equipment professional dog groomers use. There are things available to you to use that you might not have even knew existed. When you start up your dog grooming business, it is important to have, at the very least, the basic supplies and equipment. Once your business starts growing, you will then have the money to invest in more types of equipment and/or supplies.

The first set of grooming tools you will need are brushes and combs. A slicker brush helps remove mats and dead hair in the dogs coat. If there is a really tough tangle in the fur, you can also use a pin brush. The pin brush allows you to untangle a knot in the safest and least painful way. You will also need a medium and course wired metal comb.

Other types of dog tools you should have are a good pair of dog nail clippers. It is good two have two sizes of nail clippers, one for little dogs and one for larger dogs. If you only have one pair, the larger one should work on all types of dogs. It also would not hurt to have a small container of styptic powder, just in case you were to cut too far up the dogs nail.

All dog groomers should have cotton balls, Q-tips, dog shampoo and ear cleaner on hand. You should have many different types of dog shampoos for different types of situations. Some dogs have sensitive skin, extremely dry skin and/or fleas. They make a wide variety of shampoos for all of those purposes and more. Of course, one of the most useful items would be a dog dryer.

Lastly, you will need to have plenty of scissors and clippers in order to trim and style the dogs fur. If you are grooming a dog breed that has a lot of hair in the ears, it would help to have a pair of 5 inch straight hemostats to trim in the ears. You will need at least one pair of dog grooming clippers with different sized blades. There are two types of scissors that are needed. One type is a 6 inch straight dog grooming scissors and the other is a 6 inch curved dog grooming scissors. Thinning shears are used to thin and shape the coat, especially in sensitive areas.

The equipment and supplies listed above are just the basics that most dog groomers use. As your business grows, you will also be able to grow your supply inventory. It is wise to expand your equipment and supplies with your first few months of income, so that you can offer even more services and choices to your clients. It also gives your business more professional appeal.

Heather currently has a website dealing with dog grooming that includes an outline of the career with pros and cons with tips to grow your dog grooming business.

You can visit this website Dog Grooming Business for more information about this exciting career.

Cats vs. dogs, what do you think?

I personally am a cat person. I have two adult cats now. I like the cat stance, and basically for themselves . Shall A dog is just too needy and wild. As a side note: It is somehow strange, as most dogs are bigger than domestic cats, but in the world the biggest cat (Siberian Tiger) is much larger and more powerful than the largest dog (Irish Wolfhound)! Another point for the cats!

I am definitely a cat person, dogs are just a bit too affectionate and loyal to my taste, while cats, if they show love to do at times, they leave you alone as well. Dogs can be a bit annoying with their constant neediness, affection and loyalty. By the way, the Irish Wolfhound is the largest breed of dog, not the largest. The largest is the English Mastiff.

Are you a dog owner? Are you amongst those who think that dogs are better pet than cats? For all dog lovers and owners who think that dogs should be preferred as pets against cats, I would like you all to reconsider this statement. Accept the reality with a bold heart that cats are anytime better pets than dogs.

Few of reasons in support that cats are better pet than dogs are listed below:

o	Cats would always respect your personal space and would expect same from you whereas, imagine a pet dog at home that jumps around all the time. Dogs tend to overdo it and tend to irritate you.

o	Another benefit of keeping a cat as a pet is that you do not need to take her out every day for a walk. Cat would go out on itself and gets relieved. But if you have a dog as a pet, you would be required to take him out for a walk every day, even if you had a tiring day or are busy with some work. Dogs are dependent on the owner and you have to take out some time every day for them for their daily needs even if it’s raining or too cold outside.

o	You can leave a pet cat all alone for long hours without worrying about her needs which is little impossible when you keep dog as your pet. You are required to make special arrangements for your pet dog before you go out for long.

o	Cat foods are less costly and reasonable than dog food which is another added advantage of keeping a pet cat.

o	Cat’s purring is definitely gentle than dog’s barking, which can be very annoying and disturbing.

o	The body odors of dogs are bad as compared to cats which smell better than them.

o	You will not find a pet cat creating chaos or land up in a chaos. A cat keeps itself clean as compared to dog that keeps rolling up in dirt and mud.

o	The best of keeping a pet cat is that it never relieves itself on a carpet or sofa. Cats have an in built scene towards such manners as compared to dogs, which needs to be taken out daily for such activities.

I can keep on listing more and more benefits of being a cat owner than a dog owner. But I sincerely believe that above mentioned points would definitely help you make a better choice and make you opt a cat as your pet rather than a dog, next time you plan to keep a pet at home.

What are the different types of small dogs for pets?

in an attempt to buy my GF a puppy for her birthday, but I do not know what kind of dog would be best?

That is a very good question, my favorite is the toy poodle puppy, because they are very intelligent, they are a great lap dog. very playful times. They may to some people, but they tend to really protective and jealous of the ones they love. They are hypoallergenic so if she is allergic, then this is the puppy for her. Even she does not like other dogs shed. For they have curly hair when you throw her hair comes in small Clumps curl, really easy to learn and discard. They are also very easy to train. You train nearly itself when to get out of the puppy stage. They also love Toy, so they get more stuffed animals to play. The disadvantages, they are, if you get one girl, unless you go to breed they need, because you notes, if not a couple of litters they can develop uterine problems. Oh, and you do not have to get it cut Poodle, give them the puppy, what a puppy cut and that is what I have for you my way I cut better than the normal poodle. Here are some other breeds poodles, you might be interested in the next, but remember, if you go with something smaller than a toy like a small toy or a cup of tea, then they have a lot more trouble than assistance dogs, and they tend to have a shorter life span. A toy breed will live 13 to 20 years ago by the preamble is a bit lower, at about 8 years ago. Yorkies are companion dogs and are very affectionate and intelligent. They are adaptable and are independent of your family's mirror, like life, it is quiet or lively. Yorkshire Terriers can be easily trained before especially in agility, obedience and tricks. Contrary to popular belief, they are not indiscriminate barkers, but are protected and to force something seemingly unaware they are small size. They love socializing and are very loving and affectionate in return. They are very energetic and playful inside, they have a long, silky long coat that needs regular care, although the amount of precipitation is very easy, as they have no undercoat Chihuahua. think they are much larger than they maliciously cause great personalities, both gutsy and. While being the smallest dog ever experienced, they have a distinct boldness about them and be able to aggressively with other dogs. They are very carefully with your family, but somewhat suspicious of strangers and make good watchdogs two coat varieties, a short and smooth, the others with fringes on the tail and neck. Both primers and excretion is about average. There are two varieties of coat, a short and smooth, the other with more feathers the tail and neck. Both primers and excretion is above average. Grooming needs are easy to handle. They are clean and like small dogs in this way a Strip about twice per week, the trick with attention to the ears, nails and teeth remain to be done. You can always use a coat or sweater, because the body heat easy to lose due to their very small body mass, not to mention that they look awfully cute in them! They are very alert, energetic and fast-moving small Dog. Pomeranians are happy little dog, affectionate, full of personality and a wonderful companion, "may" be obedient. With a history of performances in the circus, it is easy to accept that the Poms are very smart and enjoy the spotlight. They are known for being a little dance, very entertaining to do. Profit from its intelligence to teach early on she found the rules and that you are the boss, or they will certainly try to train and dominate! You are good guard dogs, but can easily be carried away with their barking, the set rather high. Early education to suppress extreme barking has a very good idea! Cuddling and cute, they like lap dogs. They do well with a minimum of movement as it is usually very active and busy-bodies indoorsThe Poms are double-coated Dogs. The outer coat is very full, straight and rough in texture, while the undercoat is soft and fluffy like the tail. They are constant shedders. To the coat in good condition, Frequent brushing is recommended. Pekingese has a long double coat that should be brushed at least three times per week. tend to stubborn and independent, but They train well, if you establish yourself as boss early. In fact, if you are not training run a Peke, he is developing a bad mood and dominate! When it comes to house training, you need special care and attention, because this dog is very fast and can in a heartbeat if your back is turned to go. They are very loyal and loving toward their parents, but they tend to cool and reserved to strangers, which is a normal part of their personality. Socializing is very important early on. Health problems of this breed can revolve on the diseases around the eyes and respiratory problems. Now is the short-haired pug, but almost as they have two Pekingese dogs health problems around the eyes

what kind of dog is Riley in Homeward Bound 2 and? or it is good, two female dogs are living together have.?

Now I have a french mastiff thats seven years ago. she is cute and spoiled like to play with the neighbors dog, a Golden Retriever but is male. I would like to enter a female puppy kuvash in the household. is that a good idea or is it to get the best male? and if you could be the first Question, the answer would be great because he's such a cute Puppy. Even if you could link me to a gr8 website on kuvash useful would be for dogs.

Shadow is a Golden Retriever! Patient, loving and very loyal, good with children. Chance is an American Bulldog. You will notice that in the movie, true to his character, he is curious, friendly and very excited that without love Riley. can be aggressive instead of playfulness is a Rottweiler, if I mistake not bad:) (I think he is a mixed race, the sled is why so many People seem not to know), the Sheltie mix girls from the gang. Stokey, the terrier mix Ashcan & Pete, a Bull Mastiff and a Boxer. Chance girlfriend Delilah is a Kuvasz. A Blue Tick Coonhound is part of the "Riley's Gang." There is also a Collie, German Shepherd, and a very French poodle. Sassy PS is a Himalayan!
